Wave FCU Awards $4,000 in Scholarships to Local Students

Wave Federal Credit Union is proud to announce the recipients of its annual scholarship program. This year, four outstanding students have each been awarded a $1,000 scholarship to support their higher education endeavors. The winners, selected from a highly competitive pool of applicants, were chosen based on their academic excellence, community involvement, and personal essays. The scholarship recipients are: - Ryan Barlow, attending the University of Rhode Island (URI) –Samantha Moffat, currently enrolled at University of Rhode Island (URI) – Sofina McAllister, attending Salve Regina University – Tyler Lattanzio, attending Purdue University.

Each of these exemplary students impressed the selection committee with their dedication to academics, commitment to community service, and strong letters of recommendation. Wave extends its heartfelt congratulations to these scholars and their families. “We are delighted to support these students as they pursue their educational goals,” said David P. Dupéré, President/CEO of Wave FCU. “Investing in the education of our members’ children is one of the most important ways we can give back to our community.” This year’s scholarship application process required candidates to submit a short essay, academic transcripts, a record of community involvement, and a letter of recommendation. The large number of applicants is a testament to the community’s dedication to education and the promising future of its young members. The awards were presented at Wave Federal Credit Union’s main branch on Greenwich Ave, on Wednesday June 5, 2024. The winners, accompanied by their proud parents, were honored for their achievements and received their scholarship certificates.
