Tewksbury Federal Credit Union Builds Beds for Local Children in Need

On Saturday, September 27, the staff of Tewksbury Federal Credit Union came together with family, friends, and Board members — a total of 31 volunteers — to build 10 beds for children in our community. This volunteer effort supports A Bed for Every Child, an initiative of the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless that “ensures that every child in Massachusetts has a safe and comfortable place to sleep and dream.” This marks our second year participating in this meaningful project.

We were also honored to welcome members of the Tewksbury Piecemakers Quilting Guild, who generously donated handmade quilts to accompany the beds built by our team. The charity subgroup of the Piecemakers meets every Thursday morning to create quilts for a variety of causes. Over the years, they have contributed to numerous local organizations, including the new Veterans Home in Tewksbury, the Pediatric Center in Billerica, the Tewksbury Food Pantry, and many others — crafting mittens, bags, Christmas stockings, and more to help those in need.
