Systems Administrator

Finex Credit Union is looking for a Systems Administrator to provide technical support for the credit union's information systems and infrastructure. This role also oversees IT compliance and security, including both cybersecurity and physical security controls.
This position is located in either East Hartford CT or Wallingford CT. We offer a hybrid work environment with 4 days in office/1 day remote.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical support for credit union staff including troubleshooting hardware, software and network issues. Responds to needs and questions of system/network end users concerning their access to resources on the network and the operation of various software programs. Manage user accounts, permissions and access controls. Implements all new user setup on network. Responsible for training new staff as well as providing updates to existing staff in regards to basic laptop usage, core banking platform, phone system and imaging software.
• Supports organizational efforts of systems administration, security, and disaster recovery. Monitors system network traffic, stability, remote access and reports to Management for further evaluation. Makes necessary recommendations for additional resources or hardware, and reviews correspondence from core/network vendors. Perform system updates, patch management and software installations. Maintain inventory of technology assets including hardware and software.
• Assists with maintaining IT compliance with regulatory expectations including NCUA guidance, FFIEC Information Security Handbook, and GLBA safeguard requirements. Assist with administration and monitoring of cybersecurity tools including endpoint protection and identity monitoring. Maintain documentation required for audits, regulatory examinations and internal reviews.
• Responsible for ITM replenishing and servicing, working with outside vendor for troubleshooting, opening tickets and problems with ITMs/ATMs.
• Performs report-writing and testing on core system (Symitar).
• Acts as backup to Chief Operating Officer as it relates to IT and security. Assists with special projects and in other IT areas.

Requirements/Skills Needed

• 5-10 years of similar or related experience.
• (1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).
• Requires experience and understanding of technology and how it can be used to deliver credit union services. Some non-standard working hours may be required to do some of the essential and back up functions included in this position. Excellent work flow and project management skills; very good team/communication skills.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
