Somerset Federal Credit Union has selected this year’s recipients of three $2,000 scholarships awarded annually to high school seniors pursuing higher education and exemplifying the Credit Union philosophy of “people helping people.”

SFCU is proud to recognize the outstanding achievements, leadership, and community involvement of its 2026 scholarship recipients.
Hailey Ellse has been awarded the Oliver C. Perry, Jr. Scholarship. A graduating senior from Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical School, Hailey will attend Stonehill College in the fall, where she plans to study Early Child Education & Psychology.
Miette Melanson has been selected to receive the Somerset Federal Credit Union Scholarship. A graduate of Somerset Berkley Regional High School, Miette will attend Rhode Island College and pursue a degree in Diagnostic Medical Imaging.
Gianna Gomes has been awarded the ReachOut! Scholarship. Gianna is graduating from B.M.C. Durfee High School and will attend the University of New Hampshire, where she plans to study Occupational Therapy.
“These students have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and a strong commitment to their communities,” said Somerset Federal Credit Union President & CEO, Joseph Lajoie. “We are honored to support their educational journeys and look forward to seeing all they accomplish in the future.”
