NH Holiday Auction an Inspiring and Uplifting Success
The NH Credit Unions on December 3rd hosted the annual Holiday Auction to benefit Make-A-Wish NH at The Venue at The Factory in Manchester. Service Credit Union was the Presenting Sponsor. Credit Unions, Sponsors, Make-A-Wish and Wish Families gathered for a magical and inspirational night of being with friends old and new and enjoying great food, drinks, and the many surprises of the night.
The surprises and night began as attendees were greeted to the amazing piano playing of wish child Adam Li, who plays from memory. Next up was wish child Landon Chadwick and his band. Landon was on bass guitar and his band played and the vocalist Bridie sang many holiday songs.
Brian Hughes, President/CEO HRCU & Social Responsibility Committee Chair, and Julie Baron, CEO of Make-A-Wish NH were the co-hosts for the night. Not only were attendees there to raise funds for Make-A-Wish NH we were also celebrating the birthday of Make-A-Wish NH 39 years ago on December 3rd!
Julie then surprised Brian with a Make-A-Wish NH Legends award for all his years of dedicated service to Make-A-Wish NH.
Bill Zafirson from Bellwether Community Credit Union was the auctioneer for the night. With Bill’s masterful auctioneering for the live auction, where there was some friendly bidding wars, and the fund a wish program a lot of funds were raised for Make-A-Wish NH. A silent auction was held as well. Over $9,300 was raised on the auctions and fund a wish.
The last major surprise of the night and heartwarming moment was when wish child Lily Scott was granted her wish of being able to ride a horse on the beach and will be going to Turks and Caicos with her family to fulfill her wish.
The night raised over $43,000.00 for Make-A-Wish NH and the attendees left truly inspired. A perfect way to start the holiday season! We hope to see you all next year!
