Manchester, NH – The Cooperative Credit Union Association's (CCUA)'s New Hampshire Credit Unions are proud to celebrate a powerful milestone alongside its longtime partners, Make-A-Wish New Hampshire, who have now raised over $4 million in support of wish kids over the past 29 years. This incredible achievement represents nearly three decades of dedication to granting life-changing wishes for children diagnosed with critical illnesses.

“New Hampshire credit unions have always led with heart, and their long-standing partnership with Make-A-Wish New Hampshire is a powerful example of their commitment to lifting up members and communities,” said Ron McLean, CCUA President and CEO. “By granting life-changing wishes, they’re delivering hope and joy to those who need it most. Surpassing the $4 million milestone is a remarkable achievement—and a proud reflection of the generosity and spirit of the New Hampshire credit union movement.”

From hosting the Richard D. Mahoney golf tournament, producing calendars featuring local wish stories, to selling chocolate bars and sponsoring events like Rafting for Wishes, New Hampshire Credit Union’s efforts are both widespread and deeply personal. Many credit union employees have also become wish-granting volunteers, event contributors, and board members for Make-A-Wish New Hampshire, further deepening their impact.

“With deep admiration and gratitude, I am truly appreciative of the Credit Union’s unwavering support, guidance, and leadership over the years. This accomplishment stands among the most remarkable. We can’t thank the credit unions enough for being the wings that have helped us give flight to so many wishes,” shared Julie Baron, Make-A-Wish New Hampshire President and CEO

This extraordinary partnership was celebrated in full force at the recent Richard Mahoney Charity Golf Tournament, where employees from credit union branches across the Granite State gathered to show their support for the Make-A-Wish mission. This annual event is more than a day on the green, it’s a testament to nearly three decades of compassion, commitment, and community spirit.

The tournament featured some special guests: wish kids Colby and Payton, who hosted a lemonade stand at the event to raise funds for wishes like theirs. Their energy and enthusiasm reminded everyone of the true impact this partnership has on the lives of local children and families.

To close out the day, golfers and supporters gathered to reflect on the incredible impact the Credit Union community has made over the years. Together, we were able to surprise wish kid, Camdyn, with the exciting news that her wish to go to Santorini, Greece is being granted. This moment perfectly captured what this partnership is for, bringing everlasting joy to wish kids.

“As a credit union community, we are proud to stand behind Make-A-Wish New Hampshire in delivering hope and unforgettable experiences to children and families,” said Brian Hughes, CCUA Social Responsibility Committee Chair and President & CEO of HRCU. “Reaching the $4 million is funds raised reflects the passion and heart that credit unions across the New Hampshire pour into this cause, year after year.”

Building on this incredible momentum, the CCUA New Hampshire Credit Unions and Make-A-Wish New Hampshire look forward to many more years of partnership, knowing that the power of a wish will continue to serve as a catalyst of hope, strength and joy to children when they need it most.
