MIT Federal Credit Union, a member-owned cooperative financial institution, gathered for their annual meeting on April 25th in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
The meeting brought members together in a hybrid setting for the second time since the pandemic. With opening remarks from Chair Clinton Blackburn, it was shared that three candidates (Clinton Blackburn, Steven Winig and Jay Steven Fridkis) were elected to a three-year term as Directors of the Board.
The microphone was then passed to MIT Federal Credit Union President and CEO, Rui Domingos, who shined a light on the MIT FCU Community members who were awarded the “People Helping People Award” and “Memorial Scholarships”. The People Helping People Award was awarded to Lashauna Walker who is praised for her work for the MITES office, providing STEM programs free of charge to students from underrepresented backgrounds.
Domingos was also pleased to award six Memorial Scholarship awards. These scholarships are awarded to outstanding student members who are selected based on grades, extracurricular activities, and responses to an essay question. Recipients of the Memorial Scholarship are Courtney Fitch, Madison Fitch, Andrew Gagnon, Madison Holmberg, Gwyneth Tangog, and Amanda Wang.
Members who were unable to attend the meeting are invited to watch the recording and receive a copy of the annual report here.
