Mills42 Federal Credit Union’s School Supply Drive Delivers for Local Students

With many families still feeling the pinch of today’s economy, Mills42 Federal Credit Union once again stepped up in August, organizing a School Supply Drive to provide Butler Middle School students with essential supplies while helping ease the cost for local families.

Through announcements in the July and August BUILD newsletter and on social media, Mills42 encouraged members to join in the effort by bringing school supplies to the Lowell branch at 83 Merrimack Street. The drive called for everyday classroom necessities like pencils, pens, notebooks, binders, Post-It Notes, glue sticks, and more.

“Our members, staff, volunteers, and the credit union truly came together to make this happen. We assembled 42 bags packed with almost everything on the supply list,” shared Derek Cronin, President and CEO of Mills42 FCU. “We know back-to-school costs can weigh heavily on families, so our goal is to take some of that pressure off and give students what they need to succeed.”

The school supply bags were personally delivered to Butler Middle School on Thursday, August 28th, just in time for the new school year
