Mills42 Federal Credit Union Celebrates Another Successful Year of Donations for School Supply Drive

Recognizing the ongoing financial strain on families and the challenges of the current economy, Mills42 Federal Credit Union once again held a School Supply Drive in August to support Butler Middle School students and alleviate the burden on local families.

The credit union shared an announcement in their July and August BUILD newsletter, as well as on social media, encouraging members to drop off school supply donations at the Mills42 branch located at 83 Merrimack Street in Lowell. Requested supplies included pencils, pens, highlighters, glue sticks, tape, notebooks, binders, index cards, Post-It Notes, and more.

“Thanks to the generous contributions from Mills42 members, staff, volunteers, and the credit union itself, we successfully assembled 42 bags filled with nearly all the items on the student supply list,” said Derek Cronin, President and CEO of Mills42 FCU. “Back-to-school shopping can be stressful, especially when budgets are tight. By relieving parents of the burden of purchasing supplies and equipping students with everything they need, we hope to set these families up for a successful school year.”

The school supply bags were personally delivered to Butler Middle School Principal Jaime Moody on Thursday, August 29th, just in time for the new school year.
