MetroWest Community Federal Credit Union diaper drive provides over 6,000 diapers to A Place to Turn Natick

MetroWest Community Federal Credit Union just concluded its second annual Diaper Drive benefiting A Place To Turn Natick. During this year's diaper drive, the team was overwhelmed by the generosity and outpouring support of MetroWest Community Federal Credit Union members who donated over 6000 diapers, more than 300 packs of wipes, more than 20 tins of baby formula, and baby food – tripling last year’s collection.

“Up to 3,000 families in the Natick and Framingham area struggle to buy diapers. Babies require up to 8 diapers a day which adds up to between $70 and $80 a month for diapers per child, a cost that many struggling families simply can’t afford. Despite being a basic hygienic item, most government programs like SNAP or WIC do not cover the cost of diapers and therefore many parents are forced to reuse diapers or leave their children in soiled diapers for longer than appropriate time. This can adversely affect the health and welfare of infants, toddlers, and their families. Without diapers, babies and infants cannot attend daycare or early childhood programs” – Joan Barry, Executive Director of A Place To Turn Natick.

MetroWest Community Federal Credit Union would like to thank their members for their generous contribution during the diaper drive. This could not have happened without the generosity of our members. A huge thank you to all the employees who donated their time and energy to help organize the diapers for delivery.

“A 300% increase in donations from last year is an outstanding display of generosity and will make an incredible difference in the lives of families with babies in the Framingham and Natick area” – Joe Mansour President and CEO of MetroWest Community Federal Credit Union.
