Heritage Family Credit Union (HFCU) President/CEO Chris Gomez has announced that Kevin Loso, Executive Director/CEO of the Rutland Housing Authority, retired from his role as an HFCU Board Member on June 16, ending a long and distinguished tenure that began back in 1993.
“Serving on the Board these past 30 years has been a great honor and privilege, especially when it comes to representing the members who make up the amazing, local communities that Heritage Family serves,” said Loso. “The opportunity to be a part of the Credit Union’s growth and success over the years is an experience that I will never forget, and the relationships built during my time on the Board will continue to be cherished.”
Loso first served on the HFCU Board from 1993 until 2008, before rejoining in 2009 and continuing until his recent retirement. After his resignation as a director, he was named Board Member Emeritus, an official HFCU designation that will allow him to attend future Board meetings and maintain his personal connection to the Credit Union and its leadership.
“When I think about Kevin’s three decades of service as well as his unwavering commitment to the Board and our membership, all I can do is realize that words are really insufficient when it comes to expressing the profound gratitude and deep appreciation that we all feel for someone who has given so much of himself to our community over all these years,” said Gomez. “And since Kevin was the Board Chair when I first joined Heritage Family as its CEO, I would be remiss if I did not personally thank him for his longstanding service to the organization and supporting me in so many kind, generous, and meaningful ways these last few years.”
With Loso’s retirement, the Board has asked Gomez to serve as an interim, non-independent director as they undertake a formal search for a new independent Board Member. In addition, Gomez noted that the HFCU Board will also be recruiting two non-voting associate directors as part of an effort to maintain an active pipeline of new leaders, ensuring that the Credit Union’s governance structure is future-minded and continues to best represent its membership.
