Beverly Credit Union, once again, is running a toy drive in partnership with the North Shore Corps of The Salvation Army. For years, members have donated toys and other items to benefit children and families in the North Shore area. “We have members who start bringing in toys in October,” said Beverly Credit Union CEO Tom Hankard. “It has become a Beverly tradition. We also get lots of support from the Beverly Police Department — we couldn’t do this without the great people of the Beverly PD.”
The Salvation Army reports that demand for assistance continues to rise across the region. The items collected through Beverly Credit Union’s toy drive help ensure that families facing financial challenges can still experience the joy and comfort of the holidays.
Donations will be accepted through December 12. “This year we placed the ‘ornaments’ in the front window so passersby who may not know about our toy drive can take note and pop in to pick up an ornament,” Hankard added, “every contribution makes a difference.”
