Heritage Family Credit Union Announces 2026 Scholarship Recipients

Heritage Family Credit Union (HFCU) has announced the six exemplary high school graduates who each have been awarded $2,000 as recipients of the People Helping People, Tools of the Trade, and Lauri Wright Student Credit Union Scholarships.

“It’s always heartening to meet our scholarship recipients each year and see so many impressive students who are not only certain to make a difference in the world, but who have already left a memorable mark on their schools and local communities,” said Ryan Butler, HFCU Senior Vice President of Retail. “We want to congratulate our 2026 scholarship recipients as well as the family members, friends, teachers, coaches, and other inspirational forces who helped shape them into extraordinary young people with such promising futures.”

To be eligible for the People Helping People Scholarship, applicants must be HFCU members graduating from a high school in the Credit Union’s field of membership with plans to continue their studies at an accredited institution of higher education or trade school. Applicants need to submit a resume detailing their community service and volunteer activities in high school as well as an essay demonstrating how their past actions and future plans best exemplify the credit union’s philosophy of “people helping people.” The 2026 recipients are:

Riley Babbie - Fair Haven Union High School

Addison Rae Blanchard - Rutland High School

Riley Collins - Mount Saint Joseph Academy

Taylor Murphy - Mill River Union High School

Heritage Family also has established a new $2,000 Tools of the Trade Scholarship for students entering the trades. The inaugural, 2026 recipient is Caden Joslin of Stafford Technical Center.

Lastly, it’s the end of an era in Bennington, VT as Southwest Tech bids a fond adieu to Lauri Wright who is retiring after leading the Heritage Family student credit union at the school for 20 years. In recognition of her many years of service and unwavering commitment to students, Heritage Family has renamed its annual $2,000 award the Lauri Wright Student Credit Union Scholarship, which was presented to Ariana Monaco of Mount Anthony Union High School for her exemplary service and dedication to promoting financial literacy.
