Delaware credit unions came together on Saturday, March 15, to support the Special Olympics Delaware State Basketball Tournament. The energy was high as over 500 athletes from across the state gathered at the Bob Carpenter Center and the Little Bob at the University of Delaware for a day filled with competition and camaraderie.
Athletes participated in basketball games and skills contests, showcasing their hard work and dedication. Volunteers from Eagle One FCU, New Castle County Delaware FCU, and Wilmington Police & Fire FCU played a vital role in making the day memorable. Stationed at the skills contest, credit union volunteers assisted athletes by tossing balls, timing dribbling contests, and—most importantly—engaging with athletes and coaches throughout the event. Volunteers also had the opportunity to watch several basketball games in action.
The DE Social Responsibility Committee and Special Olympics Delaware extend their heartfelt thanks to all who dedicated their time to support these incredible athletes.
