On June 12, under perfect skies at Candia Woods Golf Links in Candia, NH, credit union leaders, supporters, and wish families came together for the Richard D. Mahoney Charity Golf Tournament—an annual celebration of community, generosity, and life-changing impact.
The day was marked by a major milestone as the New Hampshire Credit Unions presented Make-A-Wish New Hampshire with a $175,000 donation for the 2024–2025 fundraising year. With this contribution, the credit unions have now raised more than $4 million over their 29-year partnership with Make-A-Wish—a testament to their enduring commitment to bringing joy to children with critical illnesses.
Golfers were joined by two special guests, wish kids Colby and Payton, who hosted a cheerful lemonade stand to raise additional funds. Their enthusiasm and smiles served as a powerful reminder of the mission behind the tournament: to bring hope and happiness to local children and their families.
The most moving moment of the day came during the closing celebration, when attendees surprised wish kid Camdyn with the announcement that her wish to visit Santorini, Greece is coming true. Her joy was shared by all and underscored the real-world impact of the credit union community’s unwavering support.
“With deep admiration and gratitude, I am truly appreciative of the Credit Union’s unwavering support, guidance, and leadership over the years. This accomplishment stands among the most remarkable. We can’t thank the credit unions enough for being the wings that have helped us give flight to so many wishes,” shared Julie Baron, Make-A-Wish New Hampshire President and CEO.
“As a credit union community, we are proud to stand behind Make-A-Wish New Hampshire in delivering hope and unforgettable experiences to children and families,” said Brian Hughes, Social Responsibility Committee Chair and President/CEO of HRCU. “Reaching the $4 million milestone reflects the passion and heart that credit unions across the state pour into this cause, year after year. It’s a collective effort rooted in compassion, and it’s truly inspiring to see the difference it makes.”
Congratulations to the tournament’s first-place winners: Brian Talbot, Bill Guilfoil, Bill Ely, and Paul McDonald of Lee & Mason.
The New Hampshire Social Responsibility Committee extends heartfelt thanks to all participating credit unions and sponsors for their continued dedication to the mission of Make-A-Wish New Hampshire. Your support continues to make wishes come true.
