Credit Unions of Rhode Island Visit the State House to Advocate for Their Communities

On Thursday, April 11th, the Credit Unions of Rhode Island attended the Rhode Island Legislative Reception at the State House in Providence. Lieutenant Governor Sabina Matos, extended a gracious welcome to the credit union members, setting the tone for an evening of camaraderie and collaboration. As conversations buzzed, Speaker Joseph Shekarchi took the floor, acknowledging the invaluable role of credit unions in fostering thriving communities across the Ocean State. His supportive remarks underscored the pivotal work being done by these financial institutions. Speaker Pro-Tempore Brian Kennedy highlighted his long-standing relationship with credit unions and shared anecdotes of his enduring partnership with credit unions and reaffirming his unwavering support for their advocacy endeavors.

CCUA CEO/President, Ron McLean and Greenwood CEO and CCUA Board Chair, Fred Reinhard offered comments, shedding light on the Credit Union of Rhode Island's $1.7 million contribution to the Rhode Island Special Olympics. Their messages highlighted the profound impact generated by the collective efforts of 500,000 members strong, reaffirming the credit union's unwavering commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of fellow Rhode Islanders.
