Credit Unions Continue Proud Tradition at Rhode Island High School Basketball Playoffs

Credit unions across Rhode Island are once again taking center court as the presenting sponsor of the Rhode Island Interscholastic League (RIIL) Credit Union Basketball Championships, continuing a tradition that spans more than 30 years.

The culmination of the 2026 high school basketball playoffs will take place March 14–15 at the University of Rhode Island’s Ryan Center, where the state’s top girls’ and boys’ teams will compete for championship titles.

As presenting sponsor, the Credit Unions of Rhode Island are proud to support this premier statewide community event while showcasing their longstanding commitment to local students, schools, and communities. The tournament provides an opportunity for credit unions to increase visibility and promote positive awareness while cheering on Rhode Island’s student-athletes.

Participating credit unions will receive extensive recognition leading up to and during the two-day championship event, including:

Before the event

• Media press conference on Friday, March 13, at 10:30 a.m. at the Ryan Center

During the event

• Prominent banners displayed throughout the Ryan Center
• Credit union sponsor names featured on the scoreboard throughout the games
• Digital program advertisements for all sponsors
• Credit union representatives presenting championship hats and trophies at the conclusion of the event

Saturday, March 14

• Girls State Semifinals: 12:00 p.m. & 2:00 p.m.
• Boys State Semifinals: 4:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m.

Sunday, March 15

• Girls State Championship: 4:30 p.m.
• Boys State Championship: 6:30 p.m.
