Coastal1 Credit Union Donates 1,000 Soccer Balls

Youth soccer players across the state will soon take the field with new equipment thanks to the donation of 1,000 soccer balls to community-based youth soccer leagues across the state.  Coastal1 has also provided a sponsorship to “Ocean State 2026” and their Summer of Soccer initiative.

This initiative is designed to support local athletic programs, encourage youth participation in sports, and ensure young athletes have access to quality equipment regardless of financial circumstances. Soccer leagues in our area will receive soccer balls for practices, games, clinics, and recreational programming throughout the season.

“We believe every child deserves the opportunity to play, grow, and be part of a team,” said Brian Azar, President & CEO of Coastal1. “This donation helps remove barriers for youth athletes and strengthens community soccer programs across the state.”

League organizers and coaches say the contribution will make an immediate impact by replacing worn equipment and expanding opportunities for participation among young players of all skill levels.

“This support means a great deal to our players and families,” said Maria Montalvan, Treasurer, Pawtucket Youth Soccer Association, “Equipment costs can add up quickly, and donations like this help keep youth sports accessible and inclusive.”

Distribution of soccer balls has begun, ensuring leagues receive supplies ahead of the upcoming summer/fall season. Rooted in a “people helping people” philosophy, this initiative underscores a strong community focus by supporting youth development, encouraging healthy lifestyles, fostering teamwork, and strengthening community engagement through sports.
