Yesterday marked the arrival of hundreds of credit union leaders from CCUA's four states in Washington, DC, as they gathered for the annual Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC) hosted by America’s Credit Unions. To kick off the event, CCUA organized a warm welcome and networking reception at Bobby Van's Grill on Sunday evening, bringing together attendees, including this year's young professional 'Crashers' and valued partners.
Expressing gratitude, CCUA President/CEO Ron McLean acknowledged the participation of numerous leaders from CCUA's membership in this year's GAC, emphasizing the importance of advocating for the credit union difference with the congressional delegation.
Later today, CCUA's Chief Advocacy Officer, Adrian Velazquez, and Director of Advocacy, Jessica Avery, will join President McLean to provide a comprehensive briefing on the key legislative and regulatory issues of 2024. This session aims to equip the group with essential insights as they prepare for scheduled meetings with lawmakers on both Tuesday and Wednesday.
