CCUA Engages with MA-06 Congressional Candidate Dan Koh on Credit Union Priorities

The Cooperative Credit Union Association (CCUA) recently met with Dan Koh, Democratic candidate for Massachusetts’ 6th Congressional District, at St. Jean’s Credit Union in Salem, to discuss the priorities of credit unions and the members and communities they serve.

The conversation, led by Ron McLean, CCUA President/CEO, highlighted the important role credit unions play in expanding financial access, supporting local communities, and delivering member-focused financial services. CCUA emphasized the need for policymakers to understand the credit union difference and the policy environment credit unions need to keep serving members effectively.

“Engaging directly with candidates is an important part of building a stronger voice for credit unions,” said Adrian Velazquez, Esq., Chief Advocacy Officer of CCUA. “Our goal is to ensure candidates understand the people-first mission of credit unions and the impact they have in communities across Massachusetts. We look forward to continuing these conversations and building relationships with policymakers who are committed to advancing financial opportunity.”

CCUA encourages credit unions and their leaders to engage with candidates, participate in advocacy efforts, and make their voices heard throughout the election season. Strong relationships and active engagement today will help build a pro-credit-union Congress prepared to support the millions of Americans who rely on credit unions.
