The Cooperative Credit Union Association (CCUA) hosted CD-2 candidate Maggie Goodlander in Nashua to share the credit union difference. CCUA CEO/President Ron McLean hosted and welcomed a dynamic group of New Hampshire credit unions, including Bellwether Comm. CU, Granite State CU, Service CU, Triangle CU and Saint Mary’s Bank.
Credit unions began the conversation on elder abuse and financial fraud, particularly regarding the online scams and consumer credit card fraud. This led to discussion on the benefits and necessity of credit card interchange as we see increasing fraud by bad actors.
Financial literacy programming not only K-12 schools was highlighted, but also creating new digital and in person materials and courses to meet the evolving needs of young adults, working class individuals, and Spanish speaking communities.
New Hampshire credit unions deeply support and empower our military and Veterans’ community. As a Veteran herself, Goodlander resonated with not only our community work, but our financial services. We also emphasized the impact of our social responsibility efforts directly benefiting Make-A-Wish New Hampshire.
The CCUA and New Hampshire Credit Unions thank Maggie Goodlander for listening to our stories and promoting the credit union values of cooperation and collaboration. Goodlander is running for election to Congress on Tuesday, November 5th for the seat including Nashua and Keene.
