On July 1st, the Cooperative Credit Union Association’s (CCUA) Ron McLean and Adrian Velazquez were joined by Glenn Parsons of SCU and Kristin VanBeek of Rockland FCU for a productive meeting with Congressman William Keating (MA-09) in Falmouth, MA.

Congressman Keating—a longtime credit union champion and a familiar face to many of our members—provided a valuable overview of key developments in Washington, D.C., particularly in light of the ongoing budget reconciliation process. In addition, Congressman Keating, who has an exceptional understanding of our industry, reiterated his unequivocal support for the credit union movement.
The discussion centered on current challenges and opportunities facing the credit union industry, underscoring the importance of strong advocacy and continued collaboration between policymakers and the credit union community.
Earlier this week, CCUA hosted Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01) for a similar discussion at St. Mary’s Bank in Manchester NH. These dialogues provide an opportunity to highlight the credit union difference and the importance of congressional support to our efforts. CCUA is grateful to our members who advocate passionately on behalf of their fellow members.
