Bellwether Community Credit Union Launches “Heart of Community” Initiative to Celebrate Local Changemakers

In a continued commitment to community, Bellwether Community Credit Union proudly announces the launch of its Heart of Community initiative — a quarterly recognition program honoring local changemakers who strengthen and uplift their neighborhoods through acts of kindness, service, and leadership.

The initiative is a natural extension Bellwether’s Banking with Heart philosophy, which prioritizes people over profits and community over transactions.

“Banking with Heart is more than a slogan — it’s our promise to lead with empathy and purpose,” said Bellwether President/CEO Nathan Saller “With the Heart of Community initiative, we’re recognizing those who do the same — individuals who give selflessly, inspire others, and bring compassion to everything they do. These are the people who define what it means to be the heart of a community.”

Each quarter, honorees will:

• Be featured in the credit union’s website, press release and social media
• Receive a personalized recognition gift
• Have a $100 donation to the charity of their choice in their name

Bellwether is calling on the public to nominate the quiet changemakers — those who may not seek recognition, but whose actions have lasting impact. Eligible nominees may include:

• Caregivers – who offer time, love, and support to others in need
• Educators and Mentors – who guide, teach, and uplift others
• Community Leaders – who foster collaboration and positive change
• First Responders and Helpers – who put others first, day in and day out
