The Southern MA Chapter recently held a chapter meeting at the Fireside Grille. With a room full of people, including attendees from nearby Rhode Island credit unions, FISERV and a credit union panel spent the night learning about various types of fraud and best practices on how to help members avoid fraud and how to handle members when it happens to them.
The night kicked off with Lee Brookfield, SVP, Marketing, St. Anne’s CU & Chapter President and Nelson Tavares, President/CEO, Taunton FCU & Chapter Vice President welcoming everyone. Patrick Sheehan, Account Representative and Andrew Soltis, Fraud Specialist, FISERV discussed the amount of fraud taking place, especially with debit cards. A credit union panel consisting of Tyler Dechaine, VP of Operations and Tracy Schonhoff, AVP of Compliance both from Taunton FCU and Karen Skinner, SVP Compliance and Operations from St. Anne’s CU led lively and engaging discussions with the group on the types of fraud they are seeing at the credit unions and best practices on how to handle them and members as they go through the process.
