HR Network Meeting | The Winds of Change - New Federal Initiatives and their Impact on Employers

On February 18, the HR Network met virtually with the Employers Association of the Northeast (EANE) to discuss recent federal initiatives and their impact on employer policies. Allison Ebner, President/CEO of EANE, and Mark Adams, Director of Compliance at EANE, provided valuable insights into these changes and what employers can do to ensure compliance.

Mark covered several key topics, including Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), Affirmative Action, Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), and the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). Throughout the discussion, Allison and Mark emphasized proactive steps credit unions can take to stay compliant, such as:

  • Reviewing Affirmative Action and DEI policies to ensure they are inclusive and not exclusionary.
  • Ensuring that Federal I-9 Forms are up-to-date and completed correctly.
  • Regularly assessing policies to align with new regulatory requirements.

CCUA extends its gratitude to Allison, Mark, and EANE for hosting this informative session for our credit unions. For any questions regarding these topics, CCUA members can access the HR Hotline at 877-662-6444, free of charge.
