Worcester Credit Union is looking to fill a full-time teller position.

Responsibilities

Help Drive Good Experiences For Members and All Employees

  • Greet and assist members in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Promote courteous, respectful, and effective interactions with both members and co-workers.
  • Perform duties with minimal supervision and with a sense of ownership and urgency.

Account Management & Branch Operations

  • Help open & close the branch per security procedures, including ensuring that alarm systems are properly set and responding to alarms if required.
  • Help educate members about the products and services we offer.
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell and upsell products & services based on members’ needs.
  • Ensure compliance with credit union policies & procedures.
  • Accurately process transactions with respect to deposits, withdrawals, and fund transfers.
  • Address inquiries & help resolve issues related to deposit accounts or refer questions as appropriate (particularly regarding loan products/credit cards, and other products & services).
  • Report Electronic Fund Transfer Act (Reg E) claims immediately after being notified by a member.
  • Help maintain ATM and Teller Cash Recycler (TCR) functionality and generally support branch operations activities
  • Report and help resolve customer complaints and concerns with empathy and professionalism.
  • Recommend solutions to supervisors that might enhance member satisfaction if implemented.

Growth

  • Help the credit union meet its strategic goals for growth with respect to member retention and new member satisfaction.
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell and upsell products & services based on members’ needs.
  • Refer loan and other inquiries appropriately.

Compliance & Security

  • Complete initial and ongoing/periodic training to stay informed on topics and rules that affect this position.
  • Stay up to date with policies and procedures that affect this position.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures to help ensure institutional compliance and a robust information security program.

Requirements/Skills Needed

Experience

  • Zero to three years banking or related retail / cash handling experience.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Skills

  • Passion for helping people.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and successfully manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to learn core and other institutional solutions to process financial transactions.
  • Base proficiency in using Microsoft Office 365, including Microsoft Teams preferred.
  • Tact, ability to maintain confidentiality, and exercise good judgment in an objective manner.
