SVP-Retail Branch Operations

Align Credit Union, Lowell, MA

To direct the delivery of member service and sales through the Retail Branch Network. This includes oversight of branch day-to-day operations, business development, community engagement, and retail sales strategies that support the credit union's growth objectives. This position plays a key leadership role in driving sales performance, enhancing member experience, expanding relationships, and strengthening Align Credit Union's presence in the communities we serve. As a member of the Senior Management Team, this role participates in the development, support, and implementation of organizational strategic plans, ensuring regulatory compliance and promoting operational excellence across the retail network. This role will work closely with the SVP of Retail Digital Operations to drive retail strategies and support core systems

Responsibilities

  • Directs and monitors branch operations and community development initiatives through subordinate managers to ensure organizational goals and objectives are achieved.
  • Monitors product delivery, sales performance, and service quality, taking proactive action to improve member satisfaction and business growth.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor retail sales strategies and incentive programs to drive deposit growth, consumer and small business lending, and overall membership expansion.
  • Reinforce a culture of service excellence and consultative relationship-building across all branches
  • Lead the development and execution of business development plans that cultivate partnerships, strengthen community relationships, and increase brand visibility.
  • Engage with local organizations, businesses, and nonprofits to advance Align's community impact and growth.
  • Oversee the financial and operational performance of each branch, ensuring efficient operations, sales achievement, and profitability goals are met.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Marketing to analyze performance trends and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Work with the SVP Retail Digital Operations to produce accurate monthly reports for the Board, President/CEO, and Senior Leadership Team, highlighting retail performance, growth, and community engagement.
  • Participate in the establishment of the annual retail operational budget and monitor branch performance to budget throughout the year.
  • Establish annual sales and service goals in conjunction with Marketing and Lending, taking appropriate action to achieve results.
  • Lead retail staff training and development with a focus on sales, service delivery, business development, and community engagement.
  • Coach branch leadership teams to drive accountability, motivation, and continuous improvement.

Requirements/Skills Needed

  • Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
  • A bachelor's degree, or achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree.
  • Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature.
  • Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level.
  • Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities.
  • Must have in-depth understanding of and ability to interpret regulations affecting deposit programs within the Credit Union, including Regulations B, D, E, Z, CC, and DD.
  • Strong supervisory, technological, compliance, leadership, written and verbal communication skills.
  • On a regular basis required to sit for extended periods of time, walk, stand, use hands and fingers to handle and feel objects, reach with hands and arms, talks and hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required are close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.
  • Occasional bending and lifting up to 25 pounds. General Office environment. Moderate noise level
