SVP, Chief Financial Officer

Our SVP-Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be highly analytical, possess strong technical expertise-- including risk management skills-- and enjoy working collaboratively. The CFO oversees finance and accounting operations, as well as the IT Department. This involves directing all accounting and finance-related activities for the Credit Union, managing the accounting and support staff, and ensuring the Credit Union is appropriately managing cybersecurity, IT vendor contracts, disaster recovery plans, and risk. A strong working knowledge of GAAP is required. In alignment with the strategic plan and regulatory obligations, collaborating with the President & CEO and the Executive Vice President (EVP), this key leader will manage the Credit Union’s investment portfolio, asset/liability management system, and all financial reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities

The CFO will ensure compliance with regulations and legal requirements for the reporting and management of all financial activities. Responsible for the preparation of the annual budget, financial reports, call reports, and other miscellaneous reports including financial analysis. This position requires initiative, candid communication, strategic vision, and the ability to execute. The CFO collaborates with staff at all levels and the Board of Directors. 

This is the ideal role for a strategic financial leader who collaborates with others to develop and execute effective strategies, actions, programs, and processes that will help Hartford FCU achieve its business objectives. The CFO should be a solutions-based, team player who will use their role to research, evaluate, recommend, and implement financial/accounting solutions and opportunities for growth.

Requirements/Skills Needed

Solid knowledge of investment management, risk management, and Allowance for Credit Loss methodologies is required. Candidates should also have extensive experience working with regulatory agencies and external audit firms. Qualified applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. An MBA and/or CPA is a plus.
