GFA sees a Risk Analyst to assist in the design and implementation of management of policies and practices to identify, document and mitigate sources of risk throughout the organization. This individual will also be responsible for a substantial amount of internal monitoring reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Work with department managers to document risks as well as recommend ways to control and reduce level of risk.
  • Provide assistance in developing procedures, worksheets, and reports to ensure areas of risk are properly identified and documented bank wide. Assist in reviewing loan and deposit form and documents.
  • Perform internal reviews that validate compliance strengths and identify compliance weaknesses based on an established schedule. Prepare reports that provide recommendations for improving processes, policies and procedures. Perform ongoing monitoring to comply with regulatory compliance and bank policies.
  • Coordinate the internal audit schedule with management, including documentation and follow-up of all outstanding comments from the Bank’s Internal Auditor.
  • Conduct periodic testing of higher risk comments for continued compliance. Responsible for gathering and uploading audit requested items in a timely manner and maintain task list of all open and closed audit and examination comments.
  • Responsible for logging and tracking incidents of fraud, or potential fraud, on member accounts to completion.
  • Perform periodic reviews and ongoing Enhanced Due Diligence for High-Risk Accounts through BSA/AML software.
  • Responsible for monthly review of BSA/AML software to include transaction testing from core.
  • Utilizes GFA’s BSA/AML program to identify potentially fraudulent account activity.

Requirements/Skills Needed

  • Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to define problems, collect date, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Excellent ability to read, analyze and interpret government regulations, trade journals, and legal documents.
  • Strong analytical abilities, problem solving skills, and statistical analysis.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across various departments.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Capable of effectively presenting information to varied audiences.
  • Ability to participate and adapt to changes in fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and follow-through on initiatives to completion with attention to detail.
  • Extensive knowledge of bank operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries from regulatory agencies, and outside consultants
