Members First Credit Union is proud to announce that Michael Simoneau, Senior Vice President and Community Outreach Officer, has been appointed to the City of Manchester's Heritage Commission. In this role, Simoneau will work alongside other commission members to protect and preserve the city's historically significant sites and structures.
The Heritage Commission is responsible for ensuring the proper recognition, use, and protection of Manchester's valuable resources, including those with historic, cultural, and aesthetic significance. The Commission also reviews qualifying outdoor building permit applications in the city's historic districts, assessing their potential impact on these areas. Some of the key projects the Commission oversees include the Amoskeag Millyard Historic Districts and Amoskeag Corporation Housing, and they maintain a close working relationship with the State Historic Preservation Officer.
"We are thrilled to see Michael take on this important community role," said Courtney Fifield, president and CEO of Members First Credit Union. "His dedication to the city of Manchester and his passion for community involvement make him a perfect fit for the Heritage Commission."
Simoneau brings over forty years of experience in the financial services industry to his role at Members First Credit Union, where he has focused on fostering relationships with the community. He also serves on the City of Manchester's Zoning Board of Adjustment and as a board member for Families in Transition. He is a graduate of the Leadership Greater Manchester program.
“I’m honored to have the opportunity to serve on the Heritage Commission and contribute to preserving Manchester's rich history,” said Simoneau. “Our city’s unique heritage deserves to be protected, and I’m looking forward to working with the other Commission members to ensure these resources remain a vital part of our community.”
