Brian Azar, President and Chief Executive Officer of Coastal1 Credit Union, is pleased to announce the following promotions:
Carla Martins has been promoted to Vice President/Commercial Banking Operating Officer. She has overall responsibility for the supervision of commercial loan administration and operations, including commercial cash management functions and regulatory reporting. Carla has been with the Credit Union for the past 18 years and previously held the position of AVP/Portfolio Management in the commercial lending department. She is a graduate of The Lincoln Technical Institute.
Paul Barta has been promoted to Assistant Vice President/ Head of Facilities. He has overall responsibility for property administration and other various fixed assets in addition to the day-to-day activities of the Credit Union’s facilities department. Paul has over 14 years in the facilities management field, most recently serving as Facilities Manager. He holds a BA from the University of Rhode Island.
Ed Berube has joined the Credit Union as Assistant Vice President/Security and Fraud Prevention. He has overall responsibility for the security of the Credit Union as well as to outside stakeholders. Ed comes to the Credit Union with over 24 years of experience in law enforcement specializing in financial crimes and fraud investigations. He holds a Doctorate from Northeastern University and is a hockey and lacrosse coach in Attleboro.
Ed Cole has been promoted to Assistant Vice President/Collections Manager. He has overall responsibility for the day-to-day activities of the Collections department including overseeing a staff of eleven. Ed has over 20 years’ experience in the collections field and has been with Coastal1 since 2020. He holds an AS in Business Management from CCRI.
