In light of the recent removal of National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) Board Members Todd Harper and Tanya Otsuka—leaving Chairman Kyle Hauptman as the sole remaining member—the Cooperative Credit Union Association invites member credit unions to a virtual dialogue to discuss the implications of this shift in leadership.
The CCUA reaffirms its commitment to an independent NCUA that empowers credit unions, strengthens communities, and protects the interests of CCUA’s 5 million consumer members and the 142 million credit union members nationwide.
This session will feature expert insights and an open dialogue with CCUA member credit unions.
Agenda Highlights:
- Welcome and opening remarks from CCUA
- Update and analysis from America’s Credit Unions on the NCUA board changes, potential regulatory implications, and broader impact on credit union advocacy
- Commentary from Mark Treichel, former NCUA Executive Director, with a focus on examination procedures, assessments, and potential agency shifts
- Interactive question and answer session and open discussion
This is an important opportunity to gain expert insights and connect with national leaders, industry experts, and fellow credit unions on the NCUA Board developments.

Mark Treichel spent 33 years at the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), serving in key roles including Executive Director, Regional Director, Director of Special Actions, Supervisory Examiner, and Principal Examiner.
He understands how the NCUA thinks, how the examination process works, and what drives decisions. Mark helps credit unions work more effectively with NCUA by improving communication, navigating challenges, and finding ways to turn “no” into “yes.”

An announcement is coming soon on the representative from America's Credit Unions who will join us to discuss the latest NCUA Board developments.
Please note that this virtual event is exclusive to CCUA member credit unions. Partners interested in engaging with our credit union community can explore opportunities by emailing solutions@ccua.org.
