US Existing-Home Sales Slow to Weakest Pace 2+ Years
August 23, 2018U.S. existing homes slumped to their slowest pace in more than two years, unexpectedly declining for the fourth straight month in July amid persistently high prices and weak supply, the National Association of Realtors reported. otal existing-home sales fell 0.7% to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 5.34 million in July from 5.38 million in June. Year over year, sales were down 1.5%.
More Than Half of All $100M+ Credit Unions Planning to Add Staff, Raise Salaries
August 23, 2018Approximately one-third of all credit unions – including more than half of credit unions with assets of $100-million or more – plan to add full-time employees to their payrolls this year, and credit union salaries are up by nearly 3 percent this year. That’s according to the recently released annual Staff Salary Report from the Credit Union National Association, which encompasses compensation data for 90 positions, along with 10 part-time positions, and allows users to calculate ideal compensation packages for most employees

Providence Mayor Charles Lombardi, and CCUA President Paul Gentile gathered yesterday at Noon at the Johnston Senior Center to call attention to elder financial abuse and CU Senior Safeguard, a credit union-sponsored resource designed to empower people to recognize such abuse and take action.
