Worcester’s Perrin Sets CU on Course for Bright Future
“Small, but mighty” - that’s how Worcester Credit Union President/CEO Lisa Perrin describes her credit union. Chartered in 1934, Worcester Credit Union remains committed to both helping its members reach their financial goals and improving the quality of life in the neighborhoods it serves.
Perrin, who came to Worcester Credit Union in August 2019, had barely settled in when the Coronavirus pandemic turned the world upside down. With over 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry, Perrin quickly navigated the rapidly evolving situation to ensure the health and safety of members and employees with limited face-to-face contact and increased emphasis on electronic and digital account access.
Prior to the pandemic, Perrin and her team had undertaken the task of revitalizing the community’s perception of the credit union and used the months of mandated physical distancing to reexamine the credit union’s roots. “We wanted to emphasize the vital connection between the member, the community, and our employees,” said Perrin. “And we knew strong messages were needed.”
With a promise of “Reaching Financial Success Together,” the credit union unveiled a bright new logo. Working with students at Worcester Tech High School, the team considered hundreds of options for its new logo. “I never knew there were so many shades of green,” chuckled Perrin. The new logo was joined by an improved website featuring streamlined navigation and the ability to open an account online.
Perrin was unfazed by a flood at one of the credit union’s branches, seizing the opportunity to renovate, incorporating the new branding into the crisp, clean look. Coupled with new digital offerings, including mobile banking with mobile deposits, the credit union’s new look underscored its commitment to helping members reach their financial goals.
The members have been receptive to the changes, with Member H.R. sharing, “I love the new website. It is so clear and concise. I don’t have to search all over for rates and information regarding CDs and other offerings. It makes navigation so simple. Thank You!”
Worcester Credit Union’s commitment to its community is also evident through its outreach programs. The credit union supports local charities, such as Abbey’s House and the Regional Environmental Council’s YouthGrow program, as well as participates in activities to support the Massachusetts Credit Unions’ charity of choice, the MA Coalition for the Homeless.
As the credit union continues to grow, Perrin is proud of how her employees have embraced the changes. By joining together members, community and employees, Worcester Credit Union ensures that every member is treated as family or friend.« RETURN TO ALL NEWS
