Members First Credit Union Memorial Scholarship Program Now Accepting Applications
Six scholarships totaling $7,500 will be awarded in the Members First Credit Union Memorial Scholarship Program. Applications are now available and will be accepted through March 31, 2023. Winners will be announced in June.
The scholarship program is one important way Members First supports the community by assisting young people in their educational pursuits. The Members First Credit Union memorial scholarships recognize three local individuals who served their community in exceptional ways: John S. Walsh, Manchester firefighter and founder of Members First Credit Union; Wilbur L. Jenkins, the first personnel director for the City of Manchester and credit union supervisory committee member for 34 years; and Manchester Police Officer Michael L. Briggs, who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
“We greatly admire the service of the community members who are honored by these scholarships,” said Karl Betz, Members First Credit Union SVP/CFO and Interim CEO. “We also admire the ambition and determination demonstrated by the students who are awarded scholarships each year.”
