On behalf of the Massachusetts Credit Unions, the Massachusetts Social Responsibility Committee presented the 2021/2022 donation of $240,000 to its charitable partner, the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless (Coalition) in support of A Bed for Every Child. The Committee recently completed its fundraising efforts at the Stephen Jones Charity Golf Tournament with the check presentation made to A Bed for Every Child Program Director Tina Baptista during the awards banquet. The funds represent donations made by credit unions through 2021 and half of 2022 culminating with the golf tournament where more than 100 credit union representatives and business partners were in attendance for the presentation.

A Bed for Every Child partners with businesses, schools, and community organizations to provide beds for as many children in need who live in Massachusetts.

Social Responsibility Committee Golf Chair Charlene Bauer recognized the collective efforts of all the credit unions throughout the year and the business partners who graciously support the golf tournament. “It is through your collective generosity that the Massachusetts Credit Unions provide A Bed for Every Child with the necessary financial support to give hundreds of children a new bed of their own. We are honored to call them our partner and humbled by the amazing work they do for the children in need in our state.”

Tina Baptista, A Bed for Every Child Program Director, praised the efforts of the credit unions and the Social Responsibility Committee for their donation. “We are so grateful to all our credit unions in Massachusetts for their continued support of children who otherwise would not have a bed of their own. Your donation provides the resources they need to get a restful, good night’s sleep in preparing them for a better future.” said Baptista.

The Massachusetts Credit Unions have supported the Coalition for more than two decades and have donated just over $2.8 million.
