FEMA Suspending Communities in Four States

The Federal Emergency Management Agency has published  [83 FR 42600] in the Federal Register a list of communities in Michigan, New Jersey, North Carolina and Texas that will be suspended from the National Flood Insurance Program on August 28, 2018, for noncompliance with the floodplain management requirements of the program.

  • MI: Acme, Bingham, Cleveland, Elmwood, Empire (Village and Township), Garfield, Clen Arbor, Leelanau, Leland, Northport, Paradise, Peninsula, Suttons Bay (Village and Township), Traverse City, Union, and Whitewater
  • NJ: Brigantine, Buena, Hamilton, Hammonton, Linwood, Longport, Margate City, and Weymouth
  • NC: Belville, Holden Beach, Navassa, Shallotte, and Varnamtown
  • TX: Brown County (unincorporated areas) and Brownwood
