A former employee just called me asking about free COBRA. He has not yet enrolled in his spouse’s plan, but he is eligible through that plan. Is he eligible for the COBRA subsidy?
No, he is not considered an Assistance Eligible Individual for the COBRA subsidy under the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. You must not be eligible for health coverage under a new employer’s plan, a spouse’s plan or Medicare in order to be eligible for the assistance. Eligibility for the COBRA premium assistance also depends on the qualifying event. A reduction of hours or an involuntary termination are qualifying events. A voluntary termination is not a qualifying event.

EEO-1 Portal Set To GO Live on April 26, 2021 - https://www.eane.org/eeo-1-portal-set-to-go-live-on-april-26-2021/
The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission recently announced that the 2019 and 2020 EEO-1 Component 1 data collection will open on Monday, April 26, 2021. (EEO-1 reporting is required of companies with 100 or more employees; or of federal contractors who have 50 or more employees.)
The information will be collected via a brand new website (https://EEOCdata.org) and filer support materials and other resources will be made available once the data collection window opens. All companies will be required to create a new user account(s) using an email address and the company passcode (to be provided by mail) to access the new online filing system.
As a result of these developments, EANE’s previously scheduled HR Monthly webinar on EEO-1 reporting has been rescheduled for Thursday, May 13, 2021, in order to keep you better abreast of these developments.
