EANE Provides an Update on Hot HR Topics at New Hampshire Chapter Meeting

New Hampshire Chapter President Jonathan Oglebay from Bellwether Community Credit Union welcomed thirty credit union representatives at the Chapter’s fall in-person meeting earlier this week at Fratello’s Italian Grille in Manchester. Following his opening remarks, Oglebay introduced meeting speakers Allison Ebner and Susan Breen from the member relations team at Employers Association of the NorthEast.

Allison and Susan facilitated a conversation about a couple of hot HR topics today: Creating a remote work policy for your CU and attracting and retaining the top talent for your team. Both topics are incredibly challenging for all employers today, but there are some ‘best practices’ that CU’s can take to help them succeed in creating dynamic company cultures with successful hybrid work teams, developing pathways for high employee retention and building aggressive recruitment strategies to fill open positions and keep that pipeline full.

Following the presentation, Oglebay thanked both women sharing this important information with the New Hampshire Chapter members. The Chapter plans to repeat the program virtually with Allison and Susan later in October to allow more New Hampshire Credit Unions to participate.

Oglebay thanked everyone for an enjoyable and productive evening and closed with a discussion about the Chapter’s December Holiday Auction. Those in attendance offered some great alternative ideas for the Chapter officers to consider instead of an in-person meeting as the concerns grow due to the Delta variant. Be on the lookout for an announcement in the coming weeks from the Chapter regarding the December event.
