Stonington Vineyards Tour and Wine Tasting
Board a luxury bus with your friends on Thursday, October 17 and set off on a journey to explore Connecticut’s wine country at Stonington Vineyards. Soak in the beauty, stroll through the vineyards, savor the wines and share the memories!
Stonington Vineyards, a founding member of the Connecticut Wine Trail, was established in 1987 by Nick and Happy Smith who purchased 58 acres in the Stonington Uplands on which wine grapes had been planted earlier in the decade. For more than 30 years, Stonington Vineyards has incorporated the latest in winemaking technology and the traditional methods of barrel fermentation with its resident winemaker, Mike McAndrew whose reputation of producing quality, European-style table wines that have won numerous accolades and awards.
The vineyard is best known for its barrel fermented Chardonnay and its proprietary blends, Seaport White and Triad Rose. Also produced is a Riesling and Cabernet Franc.
The price per registered guest is $59 and includes bus transportation to and from Stonington Vineyards, private hosted tour of winery, full wine tasting of six (6) wines, designated private group tasting room with private restroom, tables, stools, and views of the vineyard (weather permitting guests are welcome to stroll through the vineyards), and a keepsake glass. The bus departs from the Hotel Valet (located past the main lobby) of Mohegan Sun Resort at 1:30 p.m. following lunch and departs Stonington Vineyards at 4:00 p.m. returning to Mohegan Sun Resort at 4:30 p.m. Space is limited on a first-come, first-served basis up to 54 passengers.
