CCUA Commits to DEI

Board votes to join the CU DEI Collective

Ron McLean, President/CEO of the Cooperative Credit Union Association, announced yesterday that the CCUA Board unanimously voted to commit to change by joining The CU Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Collective. The CU DEI is an expanding group formed within the Credit Union Movement devoted to furthering DEI, a shared cooperative principle.

The announcement, made just prior to a panel discussion on DEI principles during CCUA’s Annual Convention, substantiates McLean’s pledge to bring awareness and educational programming on the subject to the membership. “Joining the CU DEI Collective is an important statement of support for DEI, and it will enhance our efforts and provide our credit unions with additional resources”, said McLean.

The CU DEI Collective believes, diversity, equity, and inclusion are fundamental to a vibrant, relevant and growing Credit Union Movement, and is good business. Founding members of the CU DEI Collective include national credit union system organizations and service providers, committed to the movement’s cooperative principles.
