The 2019 CCUA Awards of Excellence will place a greater emphasis on honoring the people who make a difference by their personal embrace of the credit union system and its values and principles - the heroes and “credit union legends” among us who set examples for all to follow.

New Categories!

Hall of Fame (Career Achievement)

Cooperative Credit Union Association Hall of Fame members have devoted their lives to the philosophy and success of the credit union movement, making a significant impact on credit unions at the local, state, and / or national levels. Inspirational leadership and bold decision-making; personal dedication and commitment in delivering exemplary service; or voluntarily contributing time and energy to enrich credit unions and their communities are traits of these career superstars!  

In addition to receiving an Award of Excellence for Career Achievement, recipients will be inducted into the Association’s prestigious Hall of Fame.

Guidelines/eligibility: Hall of Fame nominees must have been affiliated with Association credit unions.

CEO of the Year:

The Chief Executive Officer is at the heart of every credit union, defining its culture and its success, leading and inspiring its team, and engaging with its community.

Guidelines/eligibility: CEOs of affiliated credit unions may be nominated. 

Professional of the Year:

Credit Union Professionals are the true ‘heroes’ of the credit union industry, distinguishing credit unions from other financial service providers with their dedication to the cooperative spirit and their members. They often go ‘above and beyond’ to ensure the financial success of their members.

Guidelines/eligibility: Paid professionals (excluding the CEO) of affiliated credit unions may be nominated.

Volunteer of the Year:

Volunteers, often serving as members of the board, share their time, energy, wisdom, and knowledge to help guide and nurture a credit union to success. Their commitment to the industry is legendary, truly an example of ‘people helping people.’

Guidelines/eligibility: Credit union directors, committee members at Association member credit unions may be nominated.

New Nomination Process! DEADLINE EXTENDED TO SEPTEMBER 10, 2019!

Nominating in 2019 has been made easier!

Nominations accepted from CCUA member credit unions.
Simply send an email BY NOON ON SEPT. 10, 2019, to Communications@CCUA.Org that states:

  • Nomination category
  • Candidate’s name
  • Why you think they deserve the recognition (1,000 words or less please)
  • Use specific examples, sharing photos and other materials to support your story
  • Include a hi-res photo of the candidate

There are no limits to the number of nominations* a credit union can make!

* CCUA employees, board members, and awards committee members are not eligible for nomination in any category

Judging and Announcement of Winners

Entries received by the nomination deadline of NOON ON SEPTEMBER 10, 2019, will be judged by a panel of credit union representatives, and winners will be recognized at the Awards Luncheon on Thursday, October 17 during the CCUA’s Annual Meeting & Convention, held October 16- 18 at the Mohegan Sun Resort in Uncasville.

Winners will be notified no later than Monday, September 16, to accommodate winners needing to make room reservations. (The deadline for making room reservations for the Annual Meeting & Convention is Tuesday, September 24, 2019.)
