TruStage DEI – Inclusion Institute Overview

About the Inclusion Institute:

  • The TruStage DEI Inclusion Institute (I2) is a cohort based 6-week deep dive into the topic area of inclusion with a specific emphasis on race and racial healing. The course is 2 hrs each week (the first week will be 3 hrs) and there is pre-work between each session.
  • Pre-work for each session includes important content from various articles and videos (hyperlinked in syllabus) in addition to The Little Book of Racial Healing: Coming to the Table for Truth-Telling, Liberation, and Transformation and the PBS film series, Race: The Power of an Illusion.
  • The overall objectives regarding the Inclusion Institute are as follows:
  • Gain practice in self-reflective analysis
  • Increase self-awareness in understanding and connecting to one’s own racial identity
  • Increase awareness of the historical context of race and racism in the U.S.
  • Understand and define the importance of racial healing for us all
