NCUA Proposed Rule on Bylaws Webinar - December 11, 2018

The National Credit Union Administration has issued a Proposed Rule intended to update, clarify, and simplify the standard Federal Credit Union Bylaws, as well as to provide greater flexibility to FCUs. The proposed rule follows the agency’s advance notice of proposed rulemaking (“ANPR”), released last spring, to solicit stakeholder comments on ways to streamline, clarify, and improve the standard Federal Credit Union (FCU) bylaws. The deadline for comments on the proposed rule is January 14, 2019.

The Association’s comment letter in response to ANPR is available HERE

This webinar is offered to all members as a free member benefit at no cost. The webinar represents the first meeting of members of the Association’s Bylaws Working Group, formed with the goal of developing recommendations to provide greater flexibility as well as address outstanding issues with bylaws, including the amendment process. While changes to the rule only directly impact federal credit unions, state chartered member credit unions are also welcome to participate in the Working Group and add to the discussion. In particular, credit unions that have recently undergone a bylaw amendment, envision doing so in the near future, or are comparing charters, are particularly encouraged to participate.

WEBINAR DATE: Tuesday, December 11, 2018

TIME: 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

PRESENTER: Mary Dunn, CU Counsel, PLLC
