Tech Tuesday: Focus on Photography

3-part series will help improve your skills

Taking a great photo used to be a labor-intensive process requiring a fancy camera and investing some serious time and energy into learning how to use it. But these days we can take high-quality photos and edit them - all from the same device that we use to make calls!

But make no mistake: Taking a great photo is not as simple as pointing and shooting. There are plenty of bad photos out there -- I'm sure you've seen at least a few. Even experienced photographers with good cameras can take some pretty lousy photos. Images can be too dark or too light. They can be blurred. People can have things growing out of their heads. So, what's the secret to taking great pictures? As it turns out, there are a few of them.

Join us as ‘Tech Tuesday’ explores ways to improve your photography game with Taylor McCarthy, owner of TMcCarthy Photography. The 3-part series will cover:

Taylor and camera

I am Taylor, the owner and photographer at TMcCarthy Photography! I have been photographing for over seven years. My journey started when I wanted to take pictures of my sister at her cheerleading competitions, which I continued to do multiple times for many years. As the years went on I learned more and more about sports photography. I watched a great deal of youtube videos and I reached out to other photographers in my area. In 2016, I had families reach out to me about doing family sessions. After multiple sessions, I learned that I loved family photography as much as I did sports photography. So, in 2017 I decided to start my own business. Since I have created TMcCarthy Photography, my portfolio has grown even more. I have ventured into photographing weddings, high school seniors, dance recitals, football games, company events and couples! I strive to go above and beyond for my clients. I always want the client to feel comfortable in front of the camera, and I am always up for a new challenge when photographing!
