It is with pride that Greenwood Credit Union nominates its Vice President of Commercial Lending, Holly Ferrara, for the Young Professional Award of Excellence.
Holly’s primary responsibility is the development and oversight of the Credit Union’s member business loan portfolio, currently serving over 200 different members. Additionally, as a member of the senior management team at Greenwood, she is instrumental in the development and implementation of the Credit Union’s strategic initiatives.
Holly started in the credit union industry in 2005 and has served the greater Rhode Island business community with experienced counsel, the utmost professionalism and a warm smile. In 2015, Holly was named the Rhode Island Small Business Administration’s Lender of the Year in recognition of her support of local small businesses.
Her dedication to local small business is steadfast, often going above and beyond to identify ways to help ensure the success of member businesses. This commitment is evidenced by the multitude of initiatives she has implemented ranging from the development of a social media campaign to spotlight different member businesses to the structuring of a financing transaction under the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston’s “Jobs for New England” initiative. This financing arrangement has been recognized and promoted by the FHLB as an exemplary program loan. Holly’s commitment to small business is further evidenced by her introduction of a full suite of Business Banking products and a more efficient merchant services solution to assist business’ with all their financial needs.
In true credit union spirit, Holly is a strong proponent of Greenwood Credit Union’s community initiatives. She believes strongly in giving back to the community as evidenced by her commitment to local charities and non-profits. Holly currently serves on the Board of Directors of Blackstone Valley Advocacy Center – a provider of support for victims of domestic violence. In addition, she is member of the East Greenwich Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. In 2017, Holly completed the year-long community based Leadership Rhode Island program, which exposed her and her classmates to a broad curriculum of economics, civics and culture - education that strengthened her personal growth, professional development and community leadership.
Her commitment to the community extended through her participation in the creation of the CCUA’s Better Values, Better Banking public service television show having assisted Walter Laskos achieve the high quality broadcast production for airing in Rhode Island.
Holly brings the perfect balance of credit union compassion and superior credit skills to her profession. This balance sets her apart from the competition and wins her the trust of the entire local business community. Her reputation in the marketplace enhances the credit union industry as a reliable solution for commercial clients.
