Hanscom Federal Credit Union is more than a place to bank. It is an educational resource offering people the tools they need to manage their money with confidence. One of the most important things we do here is go into communities and companies to offer financial education, and one of the most encouraging teachers we have is Ferdousi Faruque.
Helping people improve their financial outcomes is Ferdousi’s passion – and career of choice. As a Relationship Manager for Hanscom Federal Credit Union, Ferdousi helps employees from member companies, organizations, and government agencies manage their money better. She does this through educational seminars, presentations, webinars and events. This year alone, she has organized 106 Lunch and Learns, of which 94 she personally presented, and managed an additional 75 events.
“I love that I am able to educate and help people,” she said. “It’s really nice to be able to help people better their future — to help them see what their potential is or what they’ve already achieved.”
Ferdousi looks for ways to help her audience. She often "surpasses all expectations" when helping members and consistently receives a “very good” rating on her speaker evaluations, which is the highest rating. We get evaluation comments such as, “Great presenter,” “Ferdousi’s presentations are very engaging,” and “Ferdousi is an asset to HFCU.” At times, members contact her in the evenings and on weekends for assistance and she assists them as much as she can. She is known for getting members’ questions immediately answered, even if that means that she needs to work on her days off. Ferdousi delights SEG contacts and event attendees with her humor and charismatic personality. As a result, she has built a loyal SEG contact and event attendee following.
“At Hanscom, it’s refreshing that we are about education, and what is in the best interest of our members. I’m fortunate enough to actually be able to teach these financial skills and give people the resources they need to succeed,” said Ferdousi.
Ferdousi is one of the reasons our financial education programs are so popular. She is a wonder woman who always has a pep in her step regardless of what she has on her plate. Ferdousi’s talent for educating and helping others embodies the spirit of people helping people. All of us at Hanscom Federal Credit Union feel that Ferdousi Faruque is deserving of the Young Professional Award.
