2018 Young Professionals - Eileen Finegan
Hanscom Federal Credit Union
Eileen Finegan began her career as a project coordinator in Hanscom Federal Credit Union’s Partner Relations department a year ago, and in that short time, she has proven to be a star young professional. She works with the Partner Relations team to provide critical financial education to our members and SEGs through lunch and learn seminars, community meet-and-greets, and table events. One of her most rewarding professional activities has been working with AFJROTC cadets at area high schools to help them learn about and understand personal finance. In her own words, “I feel like I’m making a real difference in their financial futures.”
Eileen is a voice for her generation at the credit union. She says, “My generation has an intrinsic understanding of and ease with tools like Facebook, Instagram, smartphones, and apps because they've always been part of our lives … it's critical that CUs continue to develop lines of communication through new technologies as they’re released.”
She adds, “Credit unions should develop innovative products like first-time homeowner programs and secured credit cards that fill a need for members who have limited credit histories or low credit scores; if we're here for these members now, they'll be with us later.”
Eileen’s enthusiasm for and dedication to the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People,” led to her being chosen as a “crasher” at the 2018 Defense Credit Union Council Conference in Williamsburg, Virginia.
Although she’s only been with Hanscom FCU for a year, she’s a 15-year member of the credit union, beginning with a youth share account she opened as a child, which demonstrates the commitment she has to the credit union ethos.
Everyone here at Hanscom Federal Credit Union agrees…Eileen Finegan is a shining example of the ideal young professional any credit union would be lucky to have.
