2018 Social Responsibility Honoree - Holy Rosary Credit Union
Holy Rosary Credit Union
2018 Social Responsibility Honoree
For your consideration, here is a nomination for Excellence in Social Responsibility for HRCU.
Community, it's who we are" is the mantra carried throughout the entire organization at Holy Rosary Credit Union. As a community focused organization where members can trust us to help them achieve their financial goals with compassion, innovation and exceptional service is a true example of social responsibility.
HRCU's commitment to be a socially responsible financial institution spans across many spectrums. From providing financial education and awareness, charitable contributions, and volunteering in the many communities we serve, just to name a few.
In the past year, HRCU has hosted free seminars covering key topics such as Elder Financial Fraud, Insurance, and Estate Planning. Additionally, HRCU just recently held their first Fraud Prevention Friday. This was a multiple branch event that encompassed the entire business day and allowed community members to stop in, ask any questions they may have had regarding fraud, update their security information if they were members and were also provided a complimentary RFID blocking card holder. This was a successful first-time event that HRCU plans to repeat again in the future.
For the past few years HRCU has also added two comprehensive educational video series to their repertoire with HRCU Today and Kristy's Corner. These bi-monthly series cover current topics inside the credit union, as well as out in the community. Often these videos even can lend a helping hand to other community organizations by giving them the opportunity to promote awareness to their causes.
In addition to education, HRCU makes many financial contributions throughout the year to local charitable organizations that provide a positive impact in our communities. This becomes especially evident during the holidays. For the past four years HRCU has held their Christmas Caring Campaign. This campaign entails a series of donations made to well-deserving groups in the community who assist our friends and neighbors all year long. In the 201 7 holiday season alone, the Christmas Caring Campaign surpassed 20 donations totaling over 30,000 dollars. This is only expected to increase for the 201 8 holiday season.
Lastly, the HRCU staff are regular contributors as volunteers in the community. Each month staff members contribute to the Rochester Fellowship Soup Kitchen, providing to those in need of a hot meal. Even on the day these nominations are due, HRCU has several staff members currently out and contributing to the United Way Day of Caring, where they will contribute to projects at nonprofits, schools and libraries throughout the region. HRCU encourages employees to volunteer for these efforts, all while still being compensated as if they were at work throughout the day. It is not uncommon for an HRCU employee to be out and about serving the community on a daily basis whether it be serving on charitable boards, caring for the homeless, ensuring veterans are taken care via a food voucher program, or ensuring children have food to carry them through the weekend. HRCU truly cares for the communities it serves.
Thank you for your consideration.
