The Juvenile Court:
A Kind and Just Parent?

This issue of One City analyzes how youth offenders are treated in the Juvenile Court and if the Court’s current policies are fair and just. One City also reviews the centennial of the Juvenile Court.

“Who Are the Children of Illinois?” is fundamentally a question of responsibility—the responsibility shared by parents, community, professionals and political leaders to confront the problems facing children and families and create an environment in which all children can flourish. One hundred years ago, leaders from every community came together to answer that question. Today, as we prepare for a new century, it is time for us to face the challenge again.
